So season 2012/2013 is now over.
We did rather well – could have done better considering the stupid draws and occasional losses to teams we should have beaten – but overall we can be proud of our defensive ability as well as our attacking flair. 6th place is a fair recognition of the season’s performances.
David Moyes has gone after stabilising the club and giving us back our expectation to win games and entertain rather than to just make-do and struggle. It is symptomatic of his reign that Evertonians are unhappy that we missed out on Europe and a top 5 place this season. In the past we’d have been grateful with the perceived safety of 40 points!
It will be interesting to see who replaces him and what resources are at his disposal.
There will undoubtedly be question marks over several players until the transfer window closes later in the year, especially in light of Moyes’ move to Old Trafford. Will he take x, y or z. Conversely, will he sell or loan us some players ‘on the cheap’? Time will tell but it is definitely an exciting time to be an Everton fan. Don’t forget that change is often for the good!
We will be sending out emails during the summer advising of season 2013/2014 membership renewals as well as any other relevant details.
Until then enjoy the football-free summer (yeah, right!).
